Calcaphony

-Shelly (2009)
The resident Chipmunk has been around here living under that field boulder for at least 2 years. She's grown quite large. In the spring she made friends with our turkey hen, stealing mothfuls of corn from her to feed the munklets. She's pretty tame, and she likes to eat alongside the chickens.

-Luke and Adellaide (2010)
You've never seen them, but they were the most beuatiful ducks I ever had. They were Silver Appleyards. They, as well as another breeding pair, were sold to a friend of mine. Luke is still alive and is for sale, but Adellaide died this past winter.

-Molly, George, Rebeccah, Melchiziduck and Buffy (June 2011)
They came home in a little cardboard box with 7 other little ducklets and drakelets. Rebaccah and Melchizeduck were my favourite ducklings to hold. They became... Molly... and George. I remember holding their little pompom bodies in my hand, and I was able to train Molly to follow me like I was Mother Goose, and 'talk to me' (I'd say something, and she'd respond with a little 'chip cheerp'. That was cute). Buffy was a little crested Campbell ducklet that was Molly's 'best friend'. Buffy got sick from something or other and died at the age of 2.4 weeks.

-Sullivan (Aug.2011)
Sullivan is George's... well, I don't know for sure but I know they're related. Sullivan used to be called King Nebuquackrezzar of Babylpond (in conformation to the 'Ducks of the Bible' naming theme for this year's ducklings. Other names included: Shadquack, Mequack, Abenducko, General Baquack, and Mephiboweb). Sullivan and Molly have decidedly paired off together as an operating pair (much to the chagrin of the breeder... Me), and Sullivan protects Molly, well, that is, he keeps the other males away from her, the greedy little cheapskate.

Hazelnut, Peanut, Walnut, Chestnut, and Cashew (Sept. 2011)
Five little fellows that were born sometime in spring 2011 and were probably nursed over the summer, just coming out recently this fall. They've been fast little guys. Hard to photograph. You press the button - the Little Munklet is sitting nicely... and the flash goes off - and the Little guy's nowhere to be found.

-Lazarus (1), Mary, Martha, Emily and Sally (2011)
These 5 were purchased at the fair.

-Lazarus (2), Nelly, Becky and Annie (Oct. 2011)
Becky is a sebright; the rest are Bow Lake fowl. The 4 of them were purchased from a breeder.

-Paul, Jim and Della (Nov. 2011)
This trio of Giant orpingtons are the to-be ancestors of the up-coming Dundotte, but for now reside contentedly on the farm with the rest of the bevy.
